How to change a dummy product to a real product?

Dummy Data refers to placeholder products displayed before the indexing process is complete. You can use this data as temporary content to preview how your widget will look in your storefront—without having to wait for the indexing to finish.

Real Data refers to your actual store products, which become available once the indexing process is complete.

Why is dummy data needed?

When you install Sledge, it begins indexing your products to optimize speed and performance in your storefront. Once completed, this indexing process enables faster instant search and product filtering.

The time required for indexing depends on the number of products in your store. While indexing is still in progress, Dummy Data is used to populate your widgets—allowing you to continue using the Customize features and preview how the widget will appear in your storefront.

Real data will be available once indexing is complete.

To switch the data used in the Preview, follow these steps:

1. Click the data options located next to the Preview button in the top-right corner.

2. A menu will appear with product data options (Real Data or Dummy Data).

3. Select Real Data.

4. The data will update according to your selection.
