How to Add a Widget to Your Theme

What is a Widget?

A widget is a set of user interface (UI) elements designed to perform specific functions that enhance the appearance and usability of your online store. Widgets allow you to add features to your theme without having to modify the core code directly.

Sledge offers approximately 15 different widgets, each tailored to serve a specific purpose—such as displaying customer testimonials, promotional banners, subscription forms, and more.

Purpose of Widgets

Widgets are used to:

• Add interactive or informational elements to your store.
• Make theme customization easier without requiring advanced technical skills.
• Provide flexibility in managing layout, content, and features.

In this example, we will install a widget so it can be used in your theme. The widget we will install is the Happy Customer Widget

Steps to Install a Widget

1. Go to the Sledge Apps section

   

2. Navigate to the Widgets page

   

3. Select Happy Customer Widget and click Add to My Theme

   

4. A new page will open—scroll down and click Add Widget to My Theme

   

5. You will be redirected to Shopify’s built-in Customizer page

6. Click the Save button in the top-right corner

   

7. Return to the previous page, refresh it, and you will see a confirmation that the widget has been successfully installed
