How do I add colors to the swatch list if they’re not currently showing?
If you're experiencing issues where some colors are not detected or are missing from the color swatches, don’t worry — we’re here to guide you through resolving the problem.
This issue usually occurs when the variant option you created is not named "color" or "colour". Our system only validates the term for color using American or British English.
In this example case, the variant option is named in German — "Farbe", which also means color. However, because it doesn’t match the validated keywords, our system is unable to detect and display the color data.
Here’s a clear step-by-step guide to fix the issue:
- Select the Filter element on the right panel, then click the Settings tab and click the icon indicated by the red arrow.
- Click the "View All" button to open a popup.
- Click the "Add Color" button.
- When the 'Color Name' input field appears, enter the appropriate color name, then click the 'Add' button
- The color will be added to the list.
- Next, choose whether you want to display an image or a color swatch:
- To display an image, click "Add Image" and select the desired image (as shown with a red arrow in the example).
- To display a color swatch, use the color picker to choose a color (also shown with a red arrow in the example).
- The selected image or color will now appear in the Filter Items list.
- If your color swatch filter items are still not displaying, you can refer to the tutorial provided How do I add a color swatch to the filter list?.
