How to Add a Filter Group Using the Global Collection in Simple Product Filter?

This guide walks you through the steps to create a filter group in Sledge to help your customers easily browse and find products based on attributes such as color, size, price, brand, and more.

What is a Filter Group?

A Filter Group is a collection of filters based on a specific collection—for example, a "Color" group with filters like Red, Blue, and Green. Filter groups are used to organize product attributes on your storefront, making it easier for customers to browse and navigate.

Before proceeding to this step, make sure you have activated Sledge Core and added the Product Filter Widget to your theme.

Steps to Create a Filter Group

  • First, click the "Add Filter Group" button.

  • A new form will appear on a separate page.
  • Select the relevant collection for this filter group.
  • Fill in the filter group name—we recommend using the same name as the collection to make it easier to identify and manage later.
  • Then, click Save to apply the changes.

  • A new section will appear.
  • Click the Add Filter Items button to define the items you want to include.
  • You will be redirected to the Add Filter Items page.
  • Fill in the details according to your needs.
  • Then, click Save to apply the changes.

  • After clicking the Save button, you will be redirected back to the previous page.

  • Continue adding filter items as needed.
  • Once you're done and want to preview the changes on your storefront, click the breadcrumb marked with an arrow to return to the main Product Filter page with the latest data

  • Then, click the Review button and select the collection you want to view on the storefront.

  • Here is an example of how it appears on the storefront during the review
