How to Delete Items by Prefix in Simple Product Filter?

What is delete by prefix'?

Delete by Prefix is a mechanism that allows store owners to remove words from filter items that begin with a specific prefix. This feature is especially useful when you need to clean up or reset data in bulk based on naming patterns.

Before proceeding to this step, make sure you have activated Sledge Core and added the Product Filter Widget to your theme.

Purpose and Benefits

  • Bulk Deletion Automation: Enables you to delete large sets of items at once without manually removing them one by one.
  • Clean Up Unused Data: Helps remove outdated or seasonal items (e.g., filters or products used in past campaigns) to keep your store organized.

Follow the steps below

  • Go to the Product Filter page.

  • Select one of the Filter Groups you want to configure.
  • Click the Edit icon on one of the filter groups to enter its detail page.

  • You will see a list of Filter Items. Click on the filter item you want to configure.
  • You will be taken to the Edit Filter Item page.

  • Locate the Advanced Settings section and click the button to expand it.
  • Scroll down until you find the option labeled "Select filter items to display."
  • Change the setting from All to Filter by prefix.

  • Review the list of filter items displayed on your storefront.

If you want to remove words or characters that start with a specific prefix (for example, "a"), any item that begins with that prefix will have it removed.

Example:

  • adidas becomes didas
  • asics-tiger becomes sics-tiger
  • autumn becomes utumn
  • As an example, enter a in the input field and click Save.

  • Return to your storefront
  • Now, items in the selected filter that start with the prefix "a" will be automatically removed.
