How to Use a Built-in Sledge Template

What Is a Built-in Template?

A built-in template in Sledge is a pre-designed layout that users can apply instantly without the need to build everything from scratch. These templates are crafted to be responsive, visually appealing, and ready to use, helping users save time and maintain design consistency.

Before proceeding to this step, make sure you have activated Sledge Core and added the Product Filter Widget to your theme.

Purpose of Using Built-in Templates

Using built-in templates allows you to:

Quickly create pages or layouts with minimal setup.
Start with a professionally designed structure.
Avoid technical complexity — perfect for users without design or coding experience.
Maintain consistency across different sections or pages of your store.

Steps to Use a Built-in Template

Click on the Layout tab.
You will see two sections: Template and Advanced Settings.
Select a template if you want to quickly change the layout and product card design by simply clicking the Use this template button.
Then, click the Save button at the top right corner.

You can view the layout changes by clicking the Preview button at the top right corner, then selecting the collection you want to display.

The updated design with the new layout and product card will be shown on your storefront.

Note: This change is global. Once you configure the layout settings, all collections will follow the same configuration.

Can you change the layout after selecting a template?

Yes, you can. Here are the steps:

Click the Advanced Settings button to access the layout settings.
A list of available layouts will appear.
These layouts are linked to the design you selected from the template.
However, you can choose any layout that suits your needs, even if it differs from the original template design.

Make sure to preview your design by clicking the Preview button and selecting the desired collection.
Your updated design will then be displayed on your storefront.
